Breast Reduction in Denver

What is Breast Reduction?

Breast reduction involves the removal of excess skin, fat, and tissue from the breasts to reshape the chest and deliver a slimmer, more sculpted figure. The procedure is often performed in tandem with a breast lift to achieve comprehensive anti-aging results.

Many women opt to undergo breast reduction as part of a combination Mommy Makeover that revitalizes all areas of the face and body at once.

Reasons women may pursue breast reduction include...

  • Chafing, rashes, and irritation where the bras straps meet the skin
  • Pain and discomfort in the back, neck, and shoulders
  • Fatigue due to physical strain
  • Loss of interest in sports and hobbies
  • Limited wardrobe choices
  • Loss of self-confidence
  • Breast asymmetry

I have had the best experience with Dr. Przylecki. I literally couldn't have asked for better. I had almost no wait. His staff is excellent; very friendly. He didn't put me through any unnecessary testing and listened to my concerns. My expectations were definitely exceeded. I would recommend Dr. Przylecki to anyone!

Incision Options

Your plastic surgeon will create one of three types of incisions, determined as part of your treatment plan. The first is a periareolar incision encircling the nipple. The second is a lollipop incision that encircles the nipple and runs vertically down to the breast crease. The final incision type is an anchor incision that encircles the nipple, runs vertically down to the breast crease, and then horizontally along the inframammary fold. The surgeon will select the best incision type based on scarring considerations and how much excess tissue needs to be removed.

What Can I Expect From My Breast Reduction Procedure?

Our breast reduction in Denver, Parker, Lone Tree, and Centennial is performed under general anesthesia and takes 2-4 hours. If additional procedures such as a Mommy Makeover are undergone at the same time, surgery duration may be extended.

After your incisions are created, your surgeon will excise redundant skin and tissue, reshaping the breasts for a more balanced, subtle appearance. The nipples will be relocated to a more youthful, aesthetically pleasing position, and liposuction may be utilized to trim unwanted fat, further sculpting the chest.

Once the surgeon ensures the breasts are symmetrical and well-contoured, they will close the incisions and wrap the breasts in compression stockings to reduce swelling.

Your Recovery Journey

In the Recovery Room

You will be monitored for any complications, and once you are cleared to be released, you will go home with a family member or friend, as you will not be permitted to drive. Your helper should stay with you for the first 24 hours to assist with basic chores. You should pre-schedule childcare if needed.

Aftercare

You will be sent home with prescription pain medications to help manage any discomfort, and you will be fitted with a compression bra to help alleviate swelling. Drains may be placed to help escort any excess fluids and blood out of the body. You will be instructed on how to empty the drains on your own.

First Postoperative Visits

You will see the team again within a few days to remove the drains and replace your dressings. After this visit, you will be able to shower. After 7 days, your sutures will be trimmed and checked, and your surgeon will confirm that your recovery is progressing smoothly.

Subsequent Postoperative Visits

Patients are typically seen again 18-21 days after their surgeries. Scar therapy may be initiated at this time, and clients can begin easing back into physical activities. They are able to wear an underwire bra during the day and a support bra at night. Another visit is scheduled at 3-4 months post-op, and then once yearly.
